The PGY-1 Year

Resident rotations for the PGY-1 year are by coordinated the Dr. Rick Wright, Residency Program Director and Dr. Richard Gelberman, Chairman of Orthopaedic Surgery.

The first year of residency is broken up into two 6 month segments:

The first six month segment includes 2 months of Orthopaedic Trauma and several shorter rotations selected from the following: plastics, spine, anesthesiology, radiology and physical medicine and rehabilitation.

The second six month segment is coordinated through the Department of General Surgery and generally includes rotations of 3-5 weeks in duration on the following services: SICU, Plastic Surgery, Burn/Trauma, Vascular Surgery, Emergency Room and Pediatric Surgery.
